Annual Privacy Forum
The Annual Privacy Forum (APF) is a recurring conference focused on data protection and privacy and their repercussions on technology, business, government, law, society, policy and law enforcement. It brings together researchers, academia, policy makers, data protection authorities, industry, consultants, NGOs, and civil society to discuss developments in privacy law, technology, and practice, following the EU's GDPR framework.

APF 2026, themed 'Ten Years of GDPR – Engineering the Future', is jointly organized by the University of Salzburg and Goethe University Frankfurt. Ten years after the adoption of the GDPR, this edition explores how rapid advances in artificial intelligence, data-driven business models, governmental practices, and complex digital services are testing established privacy norms. The conference invites contributions on data protection and privacy across technology, business, government, law, society, policy, and law enforcement, with an interdisciplinary approach encouraged to bridge research, business models, and policy. Proceedings will be published by Springer LNCS, with selected papers invited to submit extended versions to the Privacy Studies Journal.
