MADWeb

Workshop on Measurements, Attacks, and Defenses for the Web (MADWeb). The web connects billions of devices, running a plethora of clients, and serves billions of users every day. To cope with such widespread adoption, the web constantly changes, and these rapid changes are not always designed with a security mindset, resulting in new attack vectors. MADWeb aims to attract researchers working at the intersection of browser evolution and web security, creating a venue for discussing web security and privacy, including rapid browser changes, security implications of current web technologies, user protection, and making browsers more secure without hindering web evolution. Since merging with the SecWeb workshop in 2025, MADWeb also welcomes ideas on extending the web with novel security mechanisms, better browser interfaces, and disciplined programming abstractions for secure web application development, as well as provocative re-envisioning of the web platform with security built in by design.
